The New Ndaanan (2009)

A giant step has been taken once again in the history of Gambian literature. The University of The Gambia Literature Committee has come up with this laudable task of promoting rising authors and Gambian literature. It is exactly 33 years since the last Ndaanan ceased to exist and today, it is a pride to see the beginning of a new era of writers emerging through this new initiative.
We congratulate the initiators of this venture and encourage them to be steadfast and carry on, whatever the outcome. We hope this will help produce new writers in the very near future. Writers who will be more in tune with the needs and the aspirations of the readership in The Gambia and abroad.

Bravo and keep it up!
