Sally Howes (Pearson technical expert) writes to WAG ![]() From: Sally Howes <sally.howes@iafrica.com> Subject: Thanks To: ngreyjohnson@yahoo.com Date: Monday, May 16, 2011, 9:05 AM Dear Nana Thank you once again for a wonderful four days in The Gambia. I will always think of it as a highlight of this year, a very rich experience for me. Thank you especially, for your guiding hand behind the proceedings, and for supporting me in so many ways throughout the workshop. I felt a great deal easier about it all knowing you were there. The calibre of Gambian writers is very impressive. Their focus, enthusiasm and commitment to learning are something I've seldom encountered in a group as diverse as ours was. I feel enormously frustrated that there are so few opportunities for publishing locally, but am confident that WAG will help hugely to improve the quality of local publishing and with establishing links with regional and international publishing houses and networks. If I can be of any assistance in this regard, please do get hold of me. I haven't yet read either of your books. In truth I haven't touched a book since the workshop ended, but as soon as I have slept enough, and dealt with the most pressing tasks piling up on my desk, I will give myself time to read more creatively! I will contact you again to tie up the various loose ends, like the Overhead Projector slides, and the check- list etc. I'll do that I hope by the end of the week. Thank you once again, to you and your association, for an opportunity to visit the Gambia, we truly welcomed and included by a wonderful group of people. I learned just as much as I hope I taught, and I look forward to keeping in contact with you and your writers in the future. kind regards Sally --------------------------------------------------------- Sally Howes Watermark Publishing fax+27 (0)865 403386 cell +27 (0)82783 8442 PO Box 21700, Mayor's Walk, 3208 Hilltops Office Park, 73 Villiers Drive Pietermaritzburg, 3201.
