The island capital Bathurst welcomed the birth of a great soul Dawda Faal was a pen commander, an African literal icon He is a pioneer of his motherland literature None but all those who sprang from him and his legacy are all celebrated literal Shoulder robbers He was a pace setter, a game player and a lion with many mouths A seasonal academia, a reservoir and an academic hero What a profound mentor, role model and a foundation layer The miracle was about to fade Two thousand and eleven broke the chain connecting the great literal Samaritan to the temporal abode Leaving his precedent to be followed by disciples His legacy to forever live There was nothing to rejoice but to mourn and grieve The inevitability of the phenomenon cannot be tampered with If possible his resurrection can be assured The demise of Dawda Faal was an unfortunate literal lost To, but not only The Gambia but the globe by and large May his honorable soul rest in peace Ameen! |
